2013 had a lot of great TV, and most likely I watched a fair few finales...some bought me to tears while others blew my mind with special effects...okay a few disappointed me but they'll never all be perfect...
If a TV show has been consistently bad its entire season in my eyes a finale can make or break whether or not I tune in for another season...or vice versa if a season has been brilliant and then the finale flat lines I might not tune in next time...
Here are my TOP 5 picks for 2013 TV Finales (yes there are three shows from The CW on this list but I just happen to love their shows)

5. Chicago Fire
Now this is a show that started off pretty slow for me, it had a lot of characters and at some points I was unsure where they were going to take the story line...
Luckily later on in the season things began picking up and I found myself falling in love with all those male firefighters :) I'm only human after all...
Onto the finale, it was full on action from the word go, Hallie (Casey's lover) returns but you know that their never going to get a happy ending since he kind of has a thing for Dawson...In every episode there is at least one fire and the major fire comes in at the end in the hospital/clinic Hallie was working at...SPOILER...she dies...
I'm also glad that they cleared up the whole Kelly sexual harassment thing, finding out that the woman had been doing this to other men made me cheer when Kelly was told the charges had been dropped...

4. Arrow
The first CW show to make it on my list, Arrow for me was either going to be a hit or a miss...I had watched Smallville and their interpretation of Oliver Queen and was wondering where the CW would take it...
Luckily they decided to make him more dark and brooding (a sure way to please female fans) and surprisingly I began forgetting about Smallville and actually enjoyed watching this character develop from a rich party playboy to a hooded vigilante who saves people...
The 'Undertaking' was the big bad that haunted Oliver and his colleagues, okay John Barrowman as the evil 'Malcolm' worked perfectly and I never get sick of watching John play many different characters...
Malcolm's plan is to level the poor half of Starling City because his wife died there and he feels like smiting some people...With a little help the 'Undertaking' device is deactivated with ten minutes to go but OH NO...there is a second device that goes off still destroying half the city...
Oliver loses his best friend Tommy who happens to be Malcolm's son, his emotion actually felt real and he swore to change who the Hood was because in his eyes he was somehow responsible for Tommy's demise as he had revealed his hidden identity to him a few episodes back...

3. Ripper Street
Why you may ask? because I'm British and I feel like that needs to be represented in this list...also Ripper Street in my eyes is easily the best show on the BBC...
Set a few months after the infamous Jack the Ripper Murders it follows a Whitechapel police department dealing with the aftermath of the murders while trying to cope with the murky world of London's East End...
Jackson (Brown Hat) is accused of being the Ripper after a knife and an organ are found hidden under the floorboards of his office in the brothel he lives in...all the police think he's guilty because he's American but Reid (Middle) and Drake (Black Hat) believe he's innocent and set out to free him...
Drake and Reid however both fall into their own set of issues, Drake admits his love to Rose a prostitute who kind of turns him down in a nice way (something will happen in S2) while Reid takes the blame for the loss/death of his daughter and he sleeps with another woman...
Jackson manages to clear his name all on his own without any help and we discover that he was set up by some American's who didn't like him that much...

2. The Vampire Diaries
This is a show that I kind of lost interest with after S2 but I kept watching and the S4 finale defiantly threw the punches that have me hooked for S5...also hot male vampires (what more could a girl ask for)
A lot went down during this finale and I expected a few twists but there were so many that had me permanently guessing what would happen next...
Graduation day and the shit hits the fan, all the dead supernatural creatures are back for the day until night and they are causing all kind of trouble...
Bonnie does a spell that sends all the supernatural creatures back to the 'Other Side' and in the process brings Jeremy back from the dead (I swear the CW just kill him to keep bringing him back when the ratings fall) unfortunately everything has to balance out and she dies...F.Y.I now only Jeremy can see her and she tells him to lie to her friends...
Elena finally chooses a Salvatore and she chooses Damon prompting Stefan to leave town to destroy Silas, the final few minutes were the OMG scene for me...Silas is Stefan's shadow self and he threw Stefan in a safe and into a lake and he plans to take over his identity next season...

1. Supernatural
I've been a loyal SPN fan from S1 and quite frankly along with other fans thought the S5 finale couldn't be topped (Sam throwing himself in the cage with Lucifer and Michael) but boy were we wrong and the creators pulled out all the stops for the S8 finale...
This show was originally meant to end at S5 (that's the length of the story arc that was written) but fans managed to keep the show alive and going and heading into its 9th season this show could possibly make it past the 10 season marker and continue for years...because who doesn't love Sam and Dean Winchester? 'The family business, hunting things, saving people'...
The later half of S8 was based solely on Sam completing 3 trials to permanently shut the gates of hell...the 3rd trial was 'cure a demon' and well they managed to trick Crowley and he ends up being the final trial...
Castiel on the other hand is trying to complete a separate 3 trials set by Metatron (a little suspect from the off go) which will make heaven better...little does he know that he himself is being played into closing heaven...
Mark Sheppard as Crowley gave an exceptional performance as Sam's blood began to humanize aspects of him...he breaks down 'I deserve to be loved' and this will drive S9 and Crowley's continuing story arc...
To sum up Dean discovers that if Sam finishes the trials then he dies (they die a lot on the show) and convinces Sam to abandon the trials (bad mistake) Sam collapses in pain and well he hasn't looked healthy for a few episodes...
Castiel loses his grace and becomes the final trial allowing Metatron to close the gates of heaven and cast out all the angels...Sam and Dean can only watch as orange balls of fire fall from the sky...The angels have fallen!!!
