We all have that favorite TV show that we never want to see come to an end. But what happens when networks and studios decide to give certain characters, most time 'lesser' cast members their own spin-off...
Now I'm first in line to admit that when these spin-off's are announced my first question is always 'but what about the characters I've put time into watching?' Just because a show is doing well doesn't automatically mean that a spin-off is necessary, sometimes a spin-off can cripple an already excellent original series but who knows with the right character choices and story line a spin-off could advance where the other show left off...

Buffy/Angel...
Its safe to say that this spin-off was one of the best decisions ever made by Joss Whedon...
Angel had outgrown Sunnydale and it was nice to see the show move in this direction, Buffy did continue while Angel aired which allowed characters from both worlds to overlap and it introduced us to a whole new cast that we could grow and love...
Angel was defiantly more adult and darker than Buffy but that style worked as audiences who grew up with Buffy happily embraced this new dark side to our favorite vampire 'Angel'.

The Vampire Diaries/The Originals...
This is one of the spin-off's that I'm looking forward to this Fall...I've kind of been growing apart from the Vampire Diaries for some time and this new lease of life could be what we've all been waiting for...
The Original family was introduced to us in S2 of 'Vampire Diaries' and quickly became a reason to watch the show...this new show will explore the life's of the original vampire family as they struggle to rebuild their family in New Orleans while dealing with vengeful witches and more hot vampires.

Arrow/Flash...
Although this spin-off is being talked about in the CW office its unclear to how the Flash will enter Green Arrows's world and how from that he'll get his own TV show in the future...
Arrow hasn't exactly introduced any characters with superpowers just yet so how would the door be opened to introduce them? and possibly expand...
Personally I like Arrow just the way it is and like some fans/critics have already spoken 'if they were going to introduce DC characters and the Flash would they have to touch on 'Man of Steel' to make the connection?' Sterling City could be getting a whole new wave of superhero's.

To end this blog I have a couple of questions that need answers...
Q1. Has the CW decided to go down the route of spin-off's instead of new shows?
Q2. Which TV show would you like to see get a possible spin-off?
Q3. Are you a 'Spike' or 'Angel' fan?
